MainStreaming has joined the Digital TV Group (DTG) as a full member, with the agreement signed at IBC2026 in Amsterdam.
The DTG is the UK's independent research and technology organisation for the television industry, bringing the whole ecosystem together - broadcasters, platforms, manufacturers, operators and technology providers - to support innovation and to help deliver a trusted, inclusive and interoperable future for television.
That work matters more than ever. Television is moving to IP. As broadcast services migrate to internet delivery, the industry faces a set of shared technical and practical challenges: how to maintain broadcast-grade reliability at national scale, how to protect Quality of Experience during peak live moments, and how to make the economics of delivery work for everyone in the chain.
None of those questions can be solved by one company alone. They require collaboration, common standards and a willingness to work in the open.
What MainStreaming brings to the table
Through its membership, MainStreaming will contribute its expertise in broadcast-grade live and on-demand video delivery to the DTG's work on the future of television.
Our Intelligent Media Delivery Platform® is built for exactly this transition: edge-native delivery deployed close to the viewer, in collaboration with ISPs, designed to handle the concentrated, unpredictable demand that live television generates. It is the technology behind large-scale live and on-demand services for some of Europe's most demanding broadcasters and streaming platforms.
Joining the DTG gives us a direct role in the conversations shaping how that transition happens in the UK and internationally, and the chance to learn from the organisations solving the same problems from different angles.
What our teams said
Richard Lindsay-Davies, CEO of the Digital TV Group, said: "MainStreaming brings valuable expertise in broadcast-grade video delivery, helping broadcasters, streaming services and ISPs deliver high-quality live and on-demand experiences at scale. We're thrilled to welcome Paul and the team into the DTG community and look forward to working closely with them."
Paul Martin, SVP Business Operations at MainStreaming, added: "The transition towards IP-delivered television demands collaboration across the entire ecosystem. Joining the DTG gives us the opportunity to contribute our experience in scalable video delivery, learn from other industry leaders and play an active role in the work shaping television's future."
Better together
The shift to IP-delivered television is a collective project. Broadcasters, ISPs and technology providers each hold part of the answer, and the quality audiences experience depends on how well those parts fit together.
That principle sits at the centre of how we work, and it is why the DTG community is the right place for us. We're looking forward to getting started.
