As IBC 2025 approaches, MainStreaming had the pleasure of joining Streaming Media for an exclusive pre-event webinar to discuss the future of video delivery. Our CRO, Ian Franklyn, shared how MainStreaming’s Intelligent Media Delivery Platform is helping content providers, broadcasters, and ISPs overcome the challenges of today’s streaming landscape.

The Core Challenge: The Internet Wasn’t Built for TV

The exponential rise in video consumption has put unprecedented pressure on networks. Content providers need to maximize revenue by ensuring flawless Quality of Experience (QoE) while protecting valuable content and keeping costs under control. At the same time, ISPs want to optimize network efficiencies, reduce churn by guaranteeing QoE, and find new ways to monetize their infrastructure.

The result: both sides face growing challenges around performance, reliability, cost, and content protection.

A Hybrid Approach to Video Delivery

During the session, Ian explained why the traditional one-size-fits-all CDN model is no longer enough. MainStreaming’s hybrid business model offers flexibility and efficiency:

  • Private Edge Network – A dedicated, fully managed CDN that ensures predictable costs and consistent QoE.

  • Public Edge Network – A flexible public CDN for those not ready for private deployments.

  • Hybrid Edge Network – The best of both worlds, seamlessly combining private and public delivery for maximum scalability.

This hybrid approach ensures that media companies can scale while maintaining full control, cost efficiency, and top performance.

Better Together: An Intertwined Ecosystem

One of the most important messages from the webinar: streaming success requires collaboration across the ecosystem.

  • For Viewers – Smooth, reliable, and high-quality streaming experiences.

  • For ISPs – Private deployments that offload heavy video traffic, boost efficiency, and open new revenue streams.

  • For Content Providers – Superior QoE, stronger economics, and ownership of delivery.

MainStreaming acts as the facilitator of this ecosystem, enabling synergy between all players with purpose-built video edge technology.
